The Jasper City Schools Educational Excellence Fund has received a total of $84,885.00 in grants from the Wachovia Foundation, the Daniel Foundation of Alabama, the Malone Family Foundation, and the ALFA Foundation.

The Jasper City Board of Education recognized the 2009-2010 JCS Teachers of the Year at the January, 2010 board meeting. Standing, left to right, are Greg Tinker from Maddox Middle School; Robin Green from T.R. Simmons Elementary; Christy White from Memorial Park Elementary; Loretta McCants from West Jasper Elementary; and Terrell Gowins from Walker High School. Tinker was also selected Jasper City Secondary Teacher of the Year. White was also selected Jasper City Elementary Teacher of the Year.
